Ally Singapore is a wellness and indoor cycling gym located within a 6,500 sq. ft commercial unit in Singapore's Central Business District. Conceived during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the project set out to redefine what a gym could be in a post-pandemic world — moving beyond physical fitness to become a genuine community space. Housing two cycle studios with a total of 70 bikes, communal lounges, luxury shower facilities, and an in-house coffee and wellness food bar, Ally Singapore was purpose-built as a prototype for the renewed gym space of the future.

Departing from the raw industrial aesthetic typical of most gym environments, Kaizen Architecture drew inspiration from the communal qualities of Roman classical spaces — the piazza, the rotunda, and the colosseum — reimagining each as a distinct spatial node within the programme. Soft curves, natural materials such as terrazzo and timber, and uplifting tones create an environment that feels welcoming rather than intimidating. The main lounge opens visually to the street, while the rotunda serves as an intimate communal threshold between workout and recovery. Lighting transitions from daylit brightness in public areas to a dimmer, more luxurious warmth in the washrooms — carefully calibrated to support both energy and calm.
