About
We take our name from the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement — and carry it as a conviction. We believe design, at its best, is a quiet force for good: improving lives, enriching daily experience, and contributing to a more considered built environment.
Kaizen Architecture is an award-winning Singapore practice built around narrative-driven design. We work across residential, hospitality, and commercial typologies — from family homes and boutique interiors to fit-outs of varying scale — always with a close attention to the stories a space is meant to hold. From the initial sketch to final handover, we offer a comprehensive architectural service — spanning concept design, authority submissions, and construction-stage design management.

Our Clients
Behind every project is a client who dared to invest in something better. We are grateful to have worked alongside homeowners, entrepreneurs, and brands who trust us to bring their visions to life.
We believe in the continual improvement in the everyday through architecture and design.

Our Team
At KZA, we are a team of designers united by a deep love of beautiful spaces and an obsession with the finer details. We approach every project with bespoke thinking and hands-on commitment — from the first concept sketch to the last construction detail — so that every client always knows their work is in dedicated, caring hands.

Melvin is the captain and founder of Kaizen Architecture (KZA). Before founding KZA in 2019, he trained under Ar. Rene Tan and TK Quek at RT+Q Architects, where he developed an expertise in luxury residential design and his grounding in craft, materiality, and considered design. He draws inspiration from pop culture, contemporary art, and the broader currents of the world around him, believing that architecture is always a reflection of its time. Melvin is particularly drawn to the unexpected — finding richness in the juxtaposition of banal materials and intricate detailing, and in spaces that carry a story worth telling. Beyond the studio, he served on the SIA Council as one of the thrust chairs from 2020 to 2026, and was also named one of URA's "20 Under 45" Architects (4th Edition) in 2025. He also held an adjunct lectureship at LASALLE College of the Arts from 2022 to 2025, where he contributed to the education of the next generation of designers. A contemporary culture collector, plant hobbyist, and confessed architecture dreamer since childhood - he once drew burning cityscapes and imagined being either an architect or a firefighter. One of those dreams came true. Guided by the philosophy of “kaizen” — continuous improvement — his work can be seen to balance innovation with restraint, and beauty with purpose.

Winson Teo
Winson Teo
Master in Architecture, Taylor’s University, Malaysia
Winson holds a Master in Architecture and works across architecture and interior design, approaching every detail as a deliberate design solution — shaping function and narrative in equal measure. With a broad interest in diverse typologies, his work is driven by a belief that space communicates: that design, at its best, is a language capable of stimulating the senses and conveying ideas. His practice extends beyond the drawn line. Recognising that graphics, colour, and softscape are as integral to a cohesive architectural language as structure or plan, he brings a holistic eye to every project. Equally committed to delivery, he ensures design intent carries through from concept to site — treating every challenge, however small, as an opportunity worth solving well.

Daniel Soh
Daniel Soh
Bachelor of Architecture, Glasgow School of Art, Scotland
Daniel Soh is an architectural graduate trained at the Glasgow School of Art, with experience spanning residential, hospitality, and conservation projects in Singapore. His contributions range from tender documentation and drawing coordination to 3D modelling — building a practice grounded in careful attention to materiality, sustainability, and long-term value. Daniel is drawn to architecture as a time-based medium — interested in how buildings accumulate meaning, adapt to new uses, and outlast their original intentions. This thinking, shaped equally by academic research and hands-on practice, runs through everything he makes. When not at his desk, he can be found running or taking the long way home on a scenic bus ride.

She believes that creativity — whether in designing spaces or perfecting a recipe — is ultimately about making something meaningful for the people who experience it.

Away from the drawing board, Martha is an avid reader and writer — finding in language the same pleasure she takes in design: the careful arrangement of elements into something coherent, considered, and alive.
Our Achievements
Recognition, for us, is a byproduct of doing the work well. Over the years, KZA's projects have been honoured with industry awards, featured across leading design media, and published in regional and international platforms — each one made possible by clients who trusted us with their most personal spaces and ambitious visions. We don't take that lightly.
